Customize your Quick Filters
Customizable Quick Filters
Customizable Quick Filters is a functionality that allows individual Agents and Admins to personalize the filter tabs on their dashboards. You can now add, remove, and manage your own set of quick filters for one-click access to your most important views, making your workflow faster and more efficient.
Key Features
- Personalize Your View: Add your most frequently used saved filters as prominent Quick Filter tabs on your dashboard.
- Declutter Your Workspace: Remove or hide default quick filters that you don't use to make space for ones that are more relevant to your tasks.
- Effortless Management: A simple interface within the saved filters panel allows you to easily control which filters appear in your quick-access area.
- Persistent Customization: Your unique set of configured quick filters is saved to your user profile and will be there every time you log in, regardless of which computer you use or if you switch between List and Kanban views.
- Set a Default View: Nominate one of your saved filters as a Default Filter, which will be applied automatically every time you start a new session.
How It Works
Adding a Quick Filter
You can turn any of your saved filters into a Quick Filter.
- Navigate to your list of Saved Filters.
- Locate the filter you wish to add (e.g., 'High Priority Tickets').
- Toggle on 'Display as quick filter'.
- The filter will now appear as a clickable tab in the Quick Filters section at the top of your dashboard.
Removing a Quick Filter
To keep your dashboard tidy, you can easily remove filters you no longer need.
- Hover over the quick filter tab you wish to remove.
- Toggle off 'Display as quick filter'.
- The filter will be removed from your Quick Filters bar but will remain in your list of saved filters.
Note: Please note that some system-defined default quick filters cannot be deleted or hidden.
Setting a Default Filter
You can mark one of your saved filters to be your Default Filter. This filter is applied automatically whenever you start a new session, ensuring you always begin with your most critical view. This setting persists across sessions.
Filter Logic and Persistence
It's important to understand how your filters work together.
Persistence
Your set of chosen Quick Filters and your selected Default Filter are saved and will always be present when you log in.
However, the active selection is not saved between sessions. For example, if you end your session while viewing the 'My Open Tickets' quick filter, the system will revert to applying only your Default Filter (if one is set) the next time you log in.
Combined Filtering Logic
All applied filters are combined using an AND condition. This means if you have an active Default Filter and then click on a Quick Filter, the results will show items that match the criteria of BOTH filters.
Example:
- Your Default Filter is
Status = Open.- You click on your Quick Filter named High Priority, which has the condition
Priority = High.- The view will be filtered to show tickets where
Status = OpenANDPriority = High.
UI and System Rules
- No Maximum Limit: You can add as many Quick Filters as you need to your dashboard.
- Naming Convention: The name displayed on the quick filter tab is taken directly from the name of your saved filter.
- Character Limit: To ensure the user interface remains clean and consistent, tab names are truncated after 25 characters. Make sure your saved filter names are concise and descriptive.
