Help employees understand what your AI Colleagues can do through capability discovery experience.

Overview

Capability Discovery enables employees to quickly understand what Virtual Assistant can help them with. When users create a new chat or lands on Home, they see a personalised introduction with suggested actions.

Key Benefits:

  • Reduces time to first interaction
  • Helps employees discover relevant capabilities (skills and AOPs)
  • Increases adoption of capabilities

NOTES

  • This capability is available for Virtual assistants with enabled functionality to create multiple chats.
  • Currently supported for native Leena AI interfaces/channels, which includes Web-app, Desktop app, Mobile app and native MS teams.

How It Works

For Employees

New Chat Experience: Whenever an employee lands on chat (creates a new chat or lands on Home), Quick Reply options (prompts) are automatically visible as part of the introduction flow. These prompts help employees immediately discover and initiate available capabilities without needing to know what to ask.

When an employee opens the chat, they see:

  1. Personalised Welcome Message

    • Greeting uses the employee's name
    • Example: "Hi Tom! What can I do for you?"
  2. Suggested Prompts

    • 7 clickable action buttons (prompts) appear
    • Each prompt triggers a specific skill or AOP
    • Examples: "Apply for leave", "Check leave balance", "Submit expense report"
  3. Natural Discovery

    • Employees can also ask capability questions in chat
    • "Can you help with license renewals?"
    • "What can you do?"
    • The Virtual Assistant responds with relevant capabilities and how to use them

Configuration

Accessing Settings

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Orchestrator > Capability Discovery

Generating Prompts

  1. Click "Generate" button
  2. System automatically creates up to 60 prompts based on:
    • Available Skills
    • Active AOPs
  3. Each prompt includes:
    • Prompt text (max 40 characters)
    • Initiates (Mapped to which Skill or AOP name)

Managing Prompts

Note: You cannot edit prompt text or change the mapped skill/AOP. To change a prompt, delete it and generate a new one.

Display Rules

  • Users always see exactly 7 prompts
  • Pinned prompts appear first (up to 7)
  • Random unpinned prompts fill remaining slots
  • New random selection on each page load

Example:

  • 5 pinned + 15 unpinned → Users see 5 pinned + 2 random unpinned
  • 7 pinned → Users see all 7 pinned (no unpinned shown)

Custom Prompt Generation

  1. Click "Generate" button
  2. Enter guidance in the text field (optional, 300 char limit)
  3. System generates 10 new prompts by default

Example inputs:

  • "Generate prompts for knowledge queries like 'How to check leave'"
  • "Create prompts for IT support requests"

Handling Inactive Skills/AOPs

When a skill or AOP is marked inactive:

  • Associated prompts display a ⚠️ warning badge
  • These prompts are hidden from employees
  • Admin can manually delete flagged prompts
  • Cannot pin prompts with inactive associations

When reactivated, prompts automatically become available again.


Preview

Before saving changes, preview the employee experience:

  1. Click "Preview" at top-right
  2. See the welcome message with your name
  3. View the randomised 7 prompts that will display
  4. Click "Regenerate" icon to see different combinations before saving the changes.


Multi-Language Support

  • Prompts are automatically translated at runtime
  • Uses employee's language attribute (should be of employee details synchronisation with HCM platform)
  • Admin configures prompts in English only
  • System handles all translations automatically

Best Practices

  1. Pin your top 5-7 most-used prompts to ensure they always appear
  2. Use action-oriented language: "Apply for leave" not "Leave application"
  3. Review inactive warnings regularly to keep prompts current
  4. Generate custom prompts for specific use cases your employees frequently request
  5. Preview before saving to verify the employee experience
