Customizing Appearance

Make your List View match your organization's needs

What You Can Customize

Without any technical changes, you can adjust:

  • Page title and headers
  • Search bar text
  • Which filters appear
  • Column names
  • Additional information shown

Changing the Page Title

The title appears at the top of your List View.

  1. Go to SettingsAppearance
  2. Find Page Title
  3. Enter your custom title
  4. Save changes

Customizing the Search Bar

Change the placeholder text to guide users:

  1. Go to SettingsAppearance
  2. Find Search Placeholder
  3. Enter helpful text
  4. Save changes

Good placeholder examples:

  • "Search by name, email, or department..."
  • "Find an employee..."
  • "Search requests..."

Choosing Which Filters to Show

You can show or hide each filter option:

  1. Go to SettingsFilters
  2. Toggle each filter on or off:
    • ✅ Status filter - Show
    • ✅ Department filter - Show
    • ❌ Date range filter - Hide
    • ❌ Tags filter - Hide
  3. Save changes

Available Filters

Tip: Only show filters that users actually need. Too many filters can be overwhelming.

Renaming Column Headers

Use terminology your team understands:

  1. Go to SettingsLabels
  2. Find the column you want to rename
  3. Enter the new name
  4. Save changes

Common renamings:

Initiated onSubmitted Date
AssigneesPending With
StatusCurrent Status

Showing Additional Information

Choose what extra details appear with each row:

  1. Go to SettingsAdditional Info
  2. Toggle options on or off:
    • Show description
    • Show tags
    • Show creation date
    • Show last updated
    • Show comments count
  3. Save changes

Empty State Message

When no results are found, show a helpful message:

  1. Go to SettingsAppearance
  2. Find Empty State Message
  3. Enter your custom message
  4. Save changes

Good examples:

  • "No pending requests found"
  • "No employees match your search"
  • "Try adjusting your filters"

Banner Settings

The banner is the header area at the top:

  1. Go to SettingsAppearance
  2. Toggle Show Banner on or off
  3. If on, customize the banner title
  4. Save changes

Mobile View

Your List View automatically adjusts for mobile devices:

  • Columns stack vertically
  • Most important columns show first
  • Users can scroll sideways for more columns
  • Actions appear as a menu

Tip: Preview on mobile before publishing to ensure it looks good.

Preview Changes

Before publishing any changes:

  1. Click Preview
  2. Check Desktop view
  3. Check Mobile view
  4. Test search and filters
  5. Verify everything looks correct

Publishing Changes

When you're happy with the changes:

  1. Review all modifications
  2. Click Publish
  3. Changes go live immediately

Reverting Changes

If something goes wrong:

  1. Go to SettingsVersion History
  2. Find a previous version
  3. Click Restore
  4. Confirm the rollback
